Meet the Founder

I founded Stemmewear on a simple principle: to help girls feel included in STEM from an early age.

"I had a teacher tell me I did poorly on a math test because I was a girl."

When I was in high school, I had a teacher tell me I did poorly on a math test because I was a girl. Those words crushed me, and it took changing schools and finding teachers to regain my confidence, and I can happily say I use math every single day. Fast forward, I now have a daughter, and I’d never want her to feel this way. I was tired of all of the unicorn and princess themed clothing being marketed to girls, and realized I wanted to do more for her.

Sparking a Lifetime of Wonder

We partner with talented women around the world to create science-themed designs out of organic materials. Our clothes break the stereotypes that trucks are for boys, and dolls are for girls.
